Energy is a very broad word, and can be used in many different ways.
When we think the word energy, we think about some type of fuel used as an 'energy source'.
It's actually the literal scientific definition of energy
“In physics, energy is the quantitative property that must be transferred to an object in order to perform work on, or to heat, the object. Energy is a conserved quantity; the law of conservation of energy states that energy can be converted in form, but not created or destroyed.” Taken from wikipedia
So energy healing would either be
“repairing” the energy source so it becomes usable or using said source to repair something with it. Energy work would be the manipulation and/or transformation of energy to make it flow
In the physical world those jobs would be akin to a mechanic or an engineer. The mechanic will make sure that the energy flows properly from the car engine to the wheels and the engineer will create and transform different types of fuel to sustain various machines and vehicles.
The main difference here is the type of energy, but the principles stays the same.
The “energy healer” works on the levels beyond the physical. Be it the emotional, mental and spiritual. There is many studies that describe with precision the innumerable layers beyond the physical levels but I'm trying to keep it relatable.
Even though we cannot see, hear or touch our emotions, thoughts and soul, everyone of us do feel them at all times. So it us undeniable that the non-physical forces or energies exists and plays a major part in our lives.
This then establishes our emotions (e-motion : energy in motion) as one of our main energy source.
The picture above illustrates that the physical body is inter-dependent with our emotional, mental and spiritual state and will work in tandem with all aspects to create homeostasis. Which means, the body will always try to balance itself and will reflect what is going on in you heart, mind and soul.
So with this in mind, the energy healer helps transmute our emotions to promote health, growth and eliminate stagnation. It is a non physical way to treat the physical body by targeting the root cause of discomfort.
It is the meaning behind the famous Greek quote “Mens sana in corpore sano" which means a healthy mind in a healthy body. I would add a healthy heart too, because to me, it is the most important aspect, without heart, we are empty.
An example of this would be how an athlete in perfect physical condition is no longer
able to throw a ball like he used to after a “trauma”. The body may be in tip top shape, but the mind refuses to use the muscles in the same ways that caused another man's death. The heart is
pumping fear into the mind and the mind find ways to protect against what could cause the same situation again.
No matter the amount of physical training or rehab done to the body, if the fear is not processed (healed), the body will not regain it's optimal ball throwing functions. The mind could be trained to no longer restrict the body so much, but it is un-optimal as the root cause is the fear itself.
Using an emotional tool to deal with an emotional problem is more efficient than using a physical tool to deal with an emotional issue (drugs, physical activities, etc...). We tend to rely a lot on the mind in modern society but we forget to feel, which is the tool of the heart to help us heal ourselves and others.
This is one example, but it shows how all aspects works together as a unit that
cannot be disassociated.
Now that we've established what is energy and what is healing, now comes the How?
There is many many different modalities of healing out there and they are all good.
Each have their own logic behind it by which they explain how they perceive the work that they do.
They all have one aspect in common though; they all provide a safe environment in which to address what needs to be healed. Just by guiding you to look inward and facing the object of the emotional discomfort, knowing that you are not alone and that you are supported, allows you to release it in a healthy way.
My process is simply to create a blend of energy frequencies from my heart and
applying what you need where you need it. I feel what your heart requires and send it outwards to you. It may sound overly simply and it is, but that is what I do. I will go
in more details on my process in a future article.
I hope this little article helped you understand a little bit better what energy work is about and how it can help you.
